Filter module correction

The default filter module in Opencart 1.5.5.1 always has an OR relation between options but it is not a user friendly method. This Vqmod patch correct it and inside the filter group will be OR relation but other groups will be AND relation between the options.


the basic Opencart filter method:

let's see only a theoretic example:

you have a webshop and sell bulbs in different power and different prices:

80 W -> 100 USD
10 W -> 10 USD
60 W -> 25 USD

You have filters: price, power

Power filter:

10 W - 20 W
20 W - 30 W
30 W - 40 W
40 W - 100 W

Price filter:

10 USD - 50 USD
50 USD - 60 USD
60 USD - 100 USD


You are a customer and want to buy a cheap 15 W bulb (15W and 20 USD) filter products, for example you want to search bulbs in 20 W - 30 W and the price 10 USD - 50 USD and check these filters checkbox.

The result will the following:

20 W with 150 USD => because its power 20 W
30 W with 400 USD => because its power 30 W
100 W with 10 USD => because its price 10 USD

and so on

Is it user friendly? Would you like to search these products? I think the answer is no. You dont exactly find what you want or have many not relevant items in the result list and maybe go away immediately.

The result will be exactly what the customers want and they find the right products so they can buy it.
